The convention from January 13 to 15 also witnessed several
meetings and interactive sessions in a bid to enhance the performance. Maulana
Badruddin Ajmal, CEO of Ajmal CSR & Member of Parliament and Abdur Rahman
Ajmal, Trustee and Member of Assam Legislative Assembly were present in all the
programmes.

During the session, Ajmal CSR informed the participants about
their plan for commencing the ‘Ajmal National Rural Education Movement’ (ANREM)
likely to be launched from Guwahati within a few months.
The first session was held on January 13 in which announcement
was made about plans for establishing ten new colleges in Assam including one
in BTAD during the current year. It may recalled that Ajmal CSR runs 14 colleges,
21 Markaz academies in addition to a number of technical and professional
institutions across Assam. The CEO also informed the participants that efforts
are on for setting up of an institute for law research, a medical college and a
university in the near future.
“It’s our pleasure to contribute in developing the education
scenario of the state. We will leave no stone unturned in making the people of
the state educated and especially those who are financially and otherwise weak
in the society,” said an official of Ajmal CSR.
The second session which was held in the evening of January 13
saw heads of different wings of Ajmal CSR making power point presentations
highlighting their performance during the years and their plans for the coming
months.
The Principals’ Meet of all institutions run by Ajmal CSR was
held at the conference hall of Maryam Ajmal College of Science & Technology
for Women, Hojai on January 14. Musharraf Hussain, Director of Ajmal Industrial
Training Institute, Kapasbari was given a cash award of Rs 15,000 and his
fellow trainers an aggregate of Rs 25,000 for innovation as well as providing
overseas placement to over 50 trainees during the last three years.
Dilwar Hussain, Principal, Ajmal College, Kharupetia and his
colleagues received an aggregate award of Rs 50,000 for their ‘Reach Out’
programme under which teachers visited the homes of students, discussed issues
relating to the student’s progress and helped the families come out of their
immediate problems.
A placement linked 90-day programme of the Ministry of Minority
Affairs, Government of India ‘Seekho aur Kamao’, conducted by Ajmal Foundation,
came to an end on January 15, 2015. Participants of the annual convention
interacted with the 22 passed out students of the programme at Ajmal Foundation
