ALIGARH July 12: The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr ZA Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a self financed three months’ observation training program “Clinical Training” in oral and maxillofacial surgery from 16th August, with an intake of two.
Professor SS Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery said that BDS graduates from an institute recognized by the Dental Council of India are eligible for programme. He said that selection would be on ‘first come, first serve’ basis. He said that application form may be obtained fromchairman.om@amu.ac.in and submitted within thirty days.
AMU Alumnus gets International Award
ALIGARH July 10: Mr. Sabahuddin Ahmad, an alumnus of the Aligarh Muslim University and the first recipient of the International Summer Research Award (ISRA) of Sir Syed Education Society of North America (SSESA) has started his internship at Loyola Medical School in Chicago, USA. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AMU and SSESA in 2013 to facilitate short-term internships of AMU students and alumni in research laboratories in the US.
Mr. Sabahuddin Ahmad has been provided full support with a monthly stipend and shall spend this summer conducting research in the area of gut immunity in response to injury and alcohol trauma. He will be using his Bioinformatics background to carry out Microarray analysis on human tissue.
Mr. Ahmad completed his B.Sc. in Botany from the Aligarh Muslim University in 2011 and joined Jamia Millia Islamia for a M.Sc. in Bioinformatics.
SSESA also administers the prestigious Sir Syed Emerging Scholar Award to AMU students to help them pursue higher education at top graduate schools around the world. ISRA is expected to complement the overarching mission of SSESA to prepare and guide talented AMU students in their pursuit of academic excellence.
